Hotel software for Ujjain, ready for Simhastha.

SutraStack is hotel management software for how an Ujjain property fills: pilgrims for the Mahakal darshan and the dawn Bhasma Aarti, crowds on Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri, families and travel agents’ groups from Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan — and, from March to May 2028, the Simhastha Mahakumbh on the Shipra.

— Simhastha Mahakumbh 2028

The Mahakumbh is coming. Be ready for it.

Once every twelve years the Kumbh comes to the Shipra, and crores of pilgrims come with it. Ujjain’s Simhastha is expected from March to May 2028. The hotels that sell best will be the ones with their prices, minimum stays and advances in place before the rush — and SutraStack does all three today.

Sales & promotion

We help you sell, too.

Through our partnership with mahakumbhujjain.com, hotels on SutraStack are promoted on the portal to pilgrims planning their Simhastha trip — to help you sell more rooms in the season.

mahakumbhujjain.com (opens in a new tab)
  • 01

The whole season’s prices, in one go.

SutraStack sends your rates to the OTAs up to a year ahead. As the Simhastha dates come into that year, set them date by date in one bulk update and send them to MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and your other OTAs with one click.

  • 02

    No room sold twice.

A booking on any OTA, on your website or at the desk drops the room count everywhere else on its own. The night the whole city is full is the night it matters most.

  • 03

Minimum stays on the big days.

Ask for two or three nights around the main bathing days, or close a date altogether, and send it to your OTAs.

  • 04

    An advance before they travel.

Your own booking website takes an advance online when the guest books — the full amount, a percentage, the first night or a fixed sum — so every Simhastha booking made there comes with money paid.

  • 05

    Every guest’s ID, on file.

Scan the ID of every adult in each room, not only the one who booked, and see who is staying in which room at any hour — on the desk computer or your phone.

  • 06

    Families and agents’ groups.

A joint family or a travel agent’s bus is one booking across many rooms, with one bill for all or one per room. Mark it as the agent’s, and their account shows what they owe.

Mahakal & Harsiddhi

Mahakaleshwar, Mahakal Lok, Harsiddhi, Bada Ganesh, Rudra Sagar

Why guests come
Darshan at the Mahakaleshwar jyotirlinga, the Bhasma Aarti before dawn, the Mahakal Lok corridor that opened in 2022, and the lamp towers of the Harsiddhi temple.
Who comes
Pilgrim families from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and across Madhya Pradesh, devotees who booked the Bhasma Aarti online, and day-trippers from Indore.
Busy months
All year; Mondays, weekends, Shravan and Mahashivratri most of all

The hard part

Guests arrive at two in the morning off a night bus to queue for the Bhasma Aarti, and leave by noon. Most stays are one night, so nearly every room turns over every day.

In SutraStack

Check guests in at any hour on their arrival date, and add an early check-in charge to the bill when they come before your time. Housekeeping marks each room clean as it is done, so the desk sees which rooms are ready for the next arrival.

— What an Ujjain front desk deals with

From Bhasma Aarti to Shravan rush, handled.

  1. 01

“Guests arrive at three in the morning for the Bhasma Aarti and want a room straight away.”

Check a guest in at any hour on their arrival date. If they come before your check-in time, add an early check-in charge to the bill, so it is not forgotten at checkout.

  2. 02

“A Shravan Monday, the phone never stops, and the register says a room is free when it isn’t.”

The booking chart shows every room, night by night. A MakeMyTrip or Goibibo booking drops the room count everywhere else on its own, so the last room is sold once.

  3. 03

“5% GST or 18%? And does a guest from Gujarat pay IGST?”

Rooms up to ₹7,500 a night are billed at 5% and above that at 18%, worked out from each night’s rate. A room is taxed where it stands, so every bill shows CGST + SGST for Madhya Pradesh (state code 23) — for a guest from Gujarat too.

  4. 04

“A travel agent in Ahmedabad sends a bus every month and settles up later.”

Mark each booking as the agent’s and record their payments against it. Their account shows what they sent, what they paid and what they still owe — so the season ends with a number, not an argument.

  5. 05

“A family of twelve across four rooms: one bill for everyone, or does each room pay its own?”

Keep the family as one booking across four rooms, and choose one bill for all of them or one bill per room.

  6. 06

“Every adult needs an ID on file, and the photocopies are in a drawer.”

Scan each guest’s ID into the booking — not only the person who booked — and see at any hour who is staying in which room. Managers can download the bookings in the house as a spreadsheet.

  7. 07

“The owner lives in Indore, and the only report is a phone call.”

At 6 am an email lists today’s arrivals, the guests staying on and the checkouts. Open SutraStack on your phone any time for bookings, money collected and rooms sold.

  8. 08

“The families who come back every Shravan still ring three times to ask if a room is free.”

Your own booking website shows them the free rooms and takes the booking and an online payment directly, with promo codes for repeat guests and quiet summer weekdays. Share the link on WhatsApp.

A channel manager, built in.

Most Ujjain properties sell through apps. SutraStack keeps every one of them in step with your front desk — one set of rates, one room count, and no extranet logins on a sold-out Saturday.

    One room count, everywhere.

A booking on any channel lowers the rooms left on every other one — and the front desk sees the same number. The last room is sold once.

  • 02

    Every rate from one screen.

Set season, weekend and festival rates once. Add a markup or a markdown for each channel, and SutraStack sends them out.

  • 03

    Close dates. Set minimum stays.

Stop selling the weeks you shut, or ask for two nights over New Year — on every channel at once, not app by app.

On every Monday of Shravan, Mahakal’s sawari leaves the temple for the Shipra and the city fills. Kanwariyas and families come from across Malwa and beyond.

In SutraStack

Price each Shravan Monday and weekend on its own, send the rates to every OTA with one click, and let the booking chart show what is left.

— Why hotels trust us

Simple to use. Easy to check.

  • People, not a ticket queue.

Message or call the team on WhatsApp. We set SutraStack up with you and train your staff, and the Support screen inside it shows who to call for your hotel.

  • Easy for every member of staff.

Each person gets their own login and sees only the screens their job needs, so a new hire learns a few screens, not the whole system — on the phone they already carry.

  • Every rupee explained.

Each bill lists every night, every extra and every payment, with the balance due always on screen. A guest never has to take anyone’s word for the total.

  • Every change on record.

Bookings, payments, refunds, bill charges and rate changes are saved with who made them and when. The owner can read the whole trail in the audit log.

  • Your data stays yours.

Each hotel sees only its own bookings and guests. Passport and ID scans are never on a public link and open only for signed-in staff. Accounts lock after repeated wrong passwords.

  • Ask us anything — a real person answers.Talk to us↑

— Ujjain hoteliers ask

Questions, answered.

  • Yes. An Ujjain hotel can set its rates for the whole Simhastha season date by date and send them to MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and other OTAs with one click — SutraStack sends rates up to a year ahead, so from spring 2027; ask for a minimum stay or close dates; take an advance on every booking made on its own website; keep one room count across every channel, so no room is sold twice; and keep an ID scan for every guest.

  • Ujjain’s Simhastha Mahakumbh is expected from March to May 2028. The exact bathing dates are announced officially — check them before you fix your season’s prices. Simhastha comes to Ujjain once every twelve years, when Jupiter is in Leo (Simha); the last one was in 2016.

  • Your rooms reach MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and 100+ other OTAs, and your own booking website takes direct bookings with an advance. We also help with sales and promotion: through our partnership with mahakumbhujjain.com, hotels on SutraStack are promoted on the portal to pilgrims planning their Simhastha trip.

  • Yes, on bookings made on your own SutraStack booking website. For each rate plan you choose the full amount, a percentage, the first night or a fixed amount, and the guest pays it online through Razorpay when they book. An advance is never less than ₹500 — or the whole stay, if that costs less. The balance stays on their bill.

  • Since 22 September 2025, rooms up to ₹7,500 a night are taxed at 5% (without input tax credit) and rooms above ₹7,500 at 18%, split equally into CGST and SGST. A room is taxed where the property stands, so an Ujjain hotel charges CGST + SGST even to guests and agencies from Gujarat, Maharashtra or other states. SutraStack applies this automatically.

  • Yes, directly. Their bookings arrive on your booking chart, and your rates and available rooms are sent back from SutraStack. The same rates and rooms also reach 100+ other OTAs, including Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia. You also get your own booking website for direct bookings.

  • Yes. Book a group into as many rooms as it needs as one booking, with one bill for all or one bill per room. Mark a booking as the agent’s, choose whether the agent or the guest pays, and the agent’s account shows what they sent, what they paid and what they still owe.

  • Yes. The ID of the guest who booked is taken at check-in, and every other guest in the room is added with their own ID scan on the booking. You can see at any hour who is staying in which room, and managers can download the bookings in the house as a spreadsheet. For guests from abroad, Form C is still filed on the FRRO portal; upload the copy to the booking.

  • Look for four things: a channel manager built in, so MakeMyTrip and the front desk never sell the same room twice; GST worked out at 5% or 18% on its own; a way to take an advance before a pilgrim travels; and screens that work on a phone. SutraStack does all four, and it is ready for Simhastha 2028.

  • Yes. Multi-property is built in — no enterprise upgrade. One login opens every property, each with its own rooms, rates, staff access and reports.

  • Himachal Pradesh. Sutra Stack Private Limited is registered there and was incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst with funding from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It is made in India for India’s budget hotels, lodges and homestays — from the hills to the temple towns.

  • Message us on WhatsApp or ask for a call back on this page. We will walk you through SutraStack on your own rooms and rates — about fifteen minutes, no credit card.
