Hotel software for Ladakh.
SutraStack is hotel management software built in the Himalayas, for a season that is short and a land that is far. In Ladakh, most of the year’s bookings come between the roads opening and the first snow — biker groups, tour operators, trekkers from abroad — and every night in that window counts.
Built in Himachal Pradesh · Incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst · Funded by DST, Government of India

— Area by area
One circuit, five valleys.
A guest house in Leh and a camp at Pangong may host the same guests a day apart. Pick your area to see who comes, when, and what SutraStack takes off your desk.

Leh & the Indus valley
Leh, Changspa, Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Stok, Choglamsar
- Why guests come
- Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa, the monasteries of Thiksey and Hemis, the Hemis festival in summer, and Leh’s market and cafés.
- Who comes
- Travellers flying in from Delhi and Mumbai, foreign trekkers, biker groups at the end of the road from Manali, and tour groups resting before they go higher.
- Busy months
- May – September, with Leh the first to fill and the last to empty
The hard part
Guests flying in need two quiet days to acclimatise, but some book one night and plan to cross Khardung La the next morning.
In SutraStack
Set a two-night minimum stay on arrival dates, on every channel at once. Guests book the rest they need, and you sell two nights instead of one.

Nubra & Turtuk
Diskit, Hunder, Sumur, Panamik, Turtuk
- Why guests come
- The road over Khardung La, Diskit Monastery and its Maitreya statue, the sand dunes and Bactrian camels at Hunder, and Turtuk, a Balti village of apricot orchards.
- Who comes
- Road-trippers and biker groups on the Leh–Nubra–Pangong loop, families on tour packages, and travellers staying in Turtuk’s homestays.
- Busy months
- June – September
The hard part
Most guests stay one or two nights in a camp or guest house, arrive late over Khardung La and leave early for Pangong. A tour operator holds a block of tents and sends the names a day before.
In SutraStack
Set up the tents as their own room type, keep the operator’s block as one booking on their account, and fill in each guest’s name when they arrive.

Pangong, Tso Moriri & Hanle
Spangmik, Lukung, Man, Merak, Korzok, Hanle, Chushul
- Why guests come
- The blue water of Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri and the village of Korzok, the night skies of the Hanle Dark Sky Reserve, and the nomads of the Changthang plateau.
- Who comes
- Road-trippers on the loop from Leh, photographers, and stargazers who stay up all night at Hanle.
- Busy months
- June – September; the lakes freeze in winter
The hard part
A camp at Pangong runs on a generator and a weak phone signal. Guests stay one night, arrive tired after a long drive, and leave at sunrise.
In SutraStack
SutraStack needs a connection — there is no offline mode — but phone data is enough. Take the payment when guests arrive, and the bill is ready before they leave at dawn.

Sham & the Kargil road
Likir, Alchi, Basgo, Uleytokpo, Lamayuru, Ulley, Dah
- Why guests come
- The thousand-year-old paintings at Alchi, the moonland around Lamayuru, the village homestays on the Sham trek, and snow-leopard trips from Ulley in winter.
- Who comes
- Travellers driving between Srinagar and Leh, trekkers on the Sham valley trail, and wildlife groups in winter.
- Busy months
- May – October, and February – March for snow leopards
The hard part
Homestays of two to four rooms take bookings by phone and through a relative or an agent in Leh, and nobody is quite sure who has paid.
In SutraStack
Run the homestay from one phone: who is coming, what each guest owes, and what has been paid — cash, UPI or card. Bookings from an agent sit on that agent’s account.

Kargil & Zanskar
Kargil, Drass, Suru valley, Rangdum, Padum, Karsha
- Why guests come
- The Kargil War Memorial at Drass, the Nun and Kun peaks above the Suru valley, Rangdum monastery, the long road to Padum, and the Chadar trek on the frozen Zanskar river.
- Who comes
- Families visiting the war memorial, travellers on the Srinagar–Leh highway stopping the night in Kargil, rafting and trekking groups in Zanskar, and Chadar trekkers in winter.
- Busy months
- May – September, Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26 July, and January – February for the Chadar
The hard part
Kargil is a one-night stop for most travellers, and they book late, from the road, once they know how far they will get.
In SutraStack
One room count runs MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and 100+ other OTAs, so a booking made from a car at 4 pm lands on your chart straight away — and never takes the room you just gave a walk-in.

Far from everywhere, handled.
01
“A Manali tour operator books six rooms for a biker group and pays at the end of the month.”
Mark each booking as the operator’s and record their payments against it. Their account shows what they sent, what they paid and what they still owe — settled before you close for winter.
02
“A trekker from abroad lands on the evening flight, and Form C is due within 24 hours.”
Save the passport scan at check-in. You still file Form C on the FRRO portal; upload the copy to the booking and it stays there for whenever you need to show it.
03
“The last room in July, sold on MakeMyTrip and to a walk-in from the airport at the same time.”
A MakeMyTrip or Goibibo booking lands on your booking chart and the room count drops everywhere else. Through AioSell and eGlobe, the same count reaches Booking.com, Agoda and 100+ other OTAs.
04
“A flight is cancelled or a pass closes, and tomorrow’s arrivals never come.”
Cancel or mark the no-shows and the rooms go straight back on sale on every channel. Each booking keeps its full history, so you can always see what was charged and why.
05
“Five months to earn a year’s income, and a rate that should change week by week.”
Change any night’s rate from your phone and it reaches every channel at once. Set a minimum stay for the peak weeks, and close the dates you shut for winter so no app can sell them.
06
“You winter in Jammu or Delhi, and next season’s bookings start coming in while you are away.”
Open SutraStack on your phone to see next season’s bookings and payments as they come in, wherever you spend the winter. Your rooms and rates are still in place when you reopen.
07
“New staff every summer, and nobody knows who changed a rate or took a payment.”
Give each person their own login with only the screens their job needs. Every change is recorded with who made it and when, and the owner sees it all in the audit log.
08
“Commission on every room — even for the groups who come back every year.”
Your own booking website takes bookings and online payments directly, with promo codes for returning groups and the quiet weeks at either end of the season. Share the link and keep the commission.
— More than a PMS
A channel manager, built in.
Most Ladakh properties sell through apps. SutraStack keeps every one of them in step with your front desk — one set of rates, one room count, and no extranet logins on a sold-out Saturday.
100+
OTAs your rooms can reach
- Direct
- MakeMyTrip and Goibibo
- Through AioSell and eGlobe
- Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia and 100+ more OTAs
01
One room count, everywhere.
A booking on any channel lowers the rooms left on every other one — and the front desk sees the same number. The last room is sold once.
02
Every rate from one screen.
Set season, weekend and festival rates once. Add a markup or a markdown for each channel, and SutraStack sends them out.
03
Close dates. Set minimum stays.
Stop selling the weeks you shut, or ask for two nights over New Year — on every channel at once, not app by app.
04
Your own booking website.
Guests book and pay on your own site with no OTA commission. Share the link on WhatsApp and Instagram, with promo codes for repeat guests.
— Your year in Ladakh
A short season. Every night counts.
What happens · Opening
Flights bring the first visitors to Leh before the high roads open. Guests rest for two days to acclimatise, so Leh’s first nights fill before anywhere else.
In SutraStack
Open the season’s rates in one go, set a two-night minimum stay where guests acclimatise, and put rooms back on sale as you reopen.
What happens · Peak & road trips
The Manali and Srinagar highways are open, biker groups and road trips arrive, and the Hemis festival draws crowds. Leh, Nubra and Pangong sell out.
In SutraStack
Book a biker group into several rooms as one booking with one bill, and keep MakeMyTrip and Goibibo in step with your chart so the last room is never sold twice.
What happens · Late season
The Ladakh Festival, clear skies and thinner crowds. Then the nights turn cold, the passes begin to close, and properties start shutting for winter.
In SutraStack
Fill the last weeks with a lower rate or a promo code on your own booking website, then stop selling the dates you are closed.
What happens · Winter
Only flights reach Leh. Most guest houses close; a few stay open for the Chadar trek on the frozen Zanskar, snow-leopard trips and Losar.
In SutraStack
Keep the rooms you open on sale and the rest closed, and watch next season’s early bookings arrive on your phone, wherever you spend the winter.

— Why hotels trust us
Simple to use. Easy to check.
People, not a ticket queue.
Message or call the team on WhatsApp. We set SutraStack up with you and train your staff, and the Support screen inside it shows who to call for your hotel.
Easy for every member of staff.
Each person gets their own login and sees only the screens their job needs, so a new hire learns a few screens, not the whole system — on the phone they already carry.
Every rupee explained.
Each bill lists every night, every extra and every payment, with the balance due always on screen. A guest never has to take anyone’s word for the total.
Every change on record.
Bookings, payments, refunds, bill charges and rate changes are saved with who made them and when. The owner can read the whole trail in the audit log.
Your data stays yours.
Each hotel sees only its own bookings and guests. Passport and ID scans are never on a public link and open only for signed-in staff. Accounts lock after repeated wrong passwords.

— Ladakh hoteliers ask
Questions, answered.
Yes. A five-room guest house uses the same SutraStack as a forty-room hotel, on the phone you already have. You only set up what you use.
Yes. Multi-property is built in — no enterprise upgrade. One login opens every property, each with its own rooms, rates, staff access and reports.
SutraStack runs in the browser and needs a connection — it has no offline mode. Any connection works, including mobile data, so a phone hotspot keeps the front desk going when the broadband drops.
No — Form C is still filed on the FRRO portal within 24 hours of arrival. SutraStack records each foreign guest’s passport details and keeps the Form C copy with the booking.
Yes, directly. Their bookings arrive on your booking chart, and your rates and available rooms are sent back from SutraStack. Through the AioSell and eGlobe channel managers, the same rates and rooms reach 100+ OTAs, including Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia. You also get your own booking website for direct bookings.
Yes. Close the dates you shut and no channel can sell them. Your rooms, rates and guest history stay in place, so there is nothing to set up again in spring.
Look for four things: a channel manager built in, so MakeMyTrip and a walk-in never get the same room; accounts for the tour operators who send you groups; somewhere to keep passport scans and Form C copies for trekkers from abroad; and screens that work on a phone. SutraStack does all four, and it is built in the Himalayas, in Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh — the same mountains, further south. Sutra Stack Private Limited is registered there and was incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst with funding from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Message us on WhatsApp or ask for a call back on this page. We will walk you through SutraStack on your own rooms and rates — about fifteen minutes, no credit card.
