Hotel PMS · Himachal Pradesh · Made in Himachal
Hotel software, made in Himachal.
SutraStack is hotel management software and a channel manager from Himachal Pradesh — registered in the state, incubated at IIT Mandi, and shaped by the people who run Himachal front desks. It is built around how a hill property actually works: a summer rush from the plains, a monsoon that empties the valley, travel agents from Delhi and Chandigarh, and foreign guests who need a Form C.

— Built in Himachal
Made in the hills, for the hills.
SutraStack was not designed in a city office and adapted for the mountains later. It started here, and it is still built here.
01
Registered in Himachal Pradesh.
Sutra Stack Private Limited is registered in Himachal Pradesh and was incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst with funding from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. DPIIT-recognised.
02
Researched in hotel lobbies.
Before a line of code was written, we spent months in hotel lobbies across Himachal — watching a register, a WhatsApp group and three OTA logins do the job one system should do.
03
Shaped by Himachal front desks.
The people who check guests in at Himachal hotels decide what we build next. When a screen slows them down at a busy check-in, the screen changes — not the people.
— Area by area
Every valley runs differently.
A homestay in Jibhi and a hotel on Shimla’s Mall Road share a state, not a season. Pick your area to see who comes, when, and what SutraStack takes off your desk.

Kullu & Manali
Manali, Old Manali, Kullu, Kasol, Tosh, Sissu
- Why guests come
- Solang Valley, the Atal Tunnel through to Sissu and Lahaul, Hadimba Temple, Kullu Dussehra, and the Parvati Valley treks from Kasol to Kheerganga.
- Who comes
- Families and honeymooners from Delhi and Punjab, college groups on long weekends, and backpackers from India and abroad in Old Manali and Kasol.
- Busy months
- April – June, October, and Christmas to New Year
The hard part
When landslides close the road into the valley, a whole day of arrivals cancels at once. On the next sunny long weekend, the same rooms are wanted on three apps at the same time.
In SutraStack
Cancel each booking under your own terms and the rooms go straight back on sale. On busy weekends one room count runs MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, your website and the front desk, so the last room is sold once.

Dharamshala & Bir
Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj, Dharamkot, Bhagsu, Bir, Palampur, Baijnath
- Why guests come
- The Dalai Lama’s temple in McLeod Ganj, the Triund trek, paragliding at Bir Billing, cricket at the HPCA stadium, and the tea gardens of Palampur.
- Who comes
- Travellers from abroad and Buddhist pilgrims, meditation students on long stays, paragliding pilots and their groups, and cricket fans on match days.
- Busy months
- March – June and October – November, when Bir flies best
The hard part
Many guests carry a passport and need a Form C within 24 hours. The flying season fills rooms with groups booked by one operator, and a match at the stadium can sell out Dharamshala overnight.
In SutraStack
Save the passport scan at check-in and upload the Form C copy to the booking. An operator’s group is one booking with what they owe on their account, and match-day rates are set once and sent to every channel.

Shimla & Kasauli
Shimla, Kufri, Mashobra, Narkanda, Chail, Kasauli
- Why guests come
- The Mall Road and the Ridge, the Kalka–Shimla toy train, snow at Kufri and Narkanda, and the quiet lanes of Kasauli, about two hours from Chandigarh.
- Who comes
- Weekenders from Delhi and Chandigarh, families on school holidays, honeymooners, and office groups on offsites.
- Busy months
- Weekends all year, May – June, and the first snowfall of winter
The hard part
Saturdays sell out and Tuesdays sit empty. The first snowfall brings a rush of same-day bookings, and every app needs a new price before lunch.
In SutraStack
Set weekend and weekday rates once and SutraStack sends them to every channel. When snow is forecast, raise the nights that matter from your phone, and set a minimum stay so one night doesn’t block a three-night booking.

Dalhousie & Chamba
Dalhousie, Khajjiar, Chamba, Dainkund
- Why guests come
- The meadow and lake at Khajjiar, the walk up to Dainkund, colonial Dalhousie, and Chamba’s Minjar fair.
- Who comes
- Families from Punjab and Jammu — Pathankot is a few hours down the road — and school and college groups that need many rooms at once.
- Busy months
- April – June, and snowy weekends in winter
The hard part
A school trip or a wedding party wants ten rooms side by side, booked by one person and paid in parts — some cash, some UPI, some on the day.
In SutraStack
Book all ten rooms as one booking with one bill. Each part-payment is recorded against it as cash, UPI or card, so the balance at checkout is never a guess.

Lahaul & Spiti
Kaza, Kibber, Langza, Tabo, Dhankar, Sissu, Jispa, Keylong
- Why guests come
- Key Monastery, Chandratal lake, the fossil village of Langza, the cliff-top monastery at Dhankar, and the long road circuit through Spiti.
- Who comes
- Road-trippers and riders on the Spiti circuit, photographers, and adventure groups who stay a night or two and move on.
- Busy months
- June – September; the road over Kunzum Pass is usually open only from late May to mid-October
The hard part
The season is short and every night counts. Guests arrive late after a long drive, riders book as a group, and the internet comes and goes.
In SutraStack
See every night of the short season on one chart, book a riders’ group as one booking, and close the weeks you shut for winter so no app can sell them. SutraStack runs on any connection, phone data included — but it does need one; there is no offline mode.

Kinnaur
Sangla, Chitkul, Kalpa, Reckong Peo, Nako
- Why guests come
- Chitkul near the Tibet border, the view of Kinnaur Kailash from Kalpa, the orchards of Sangla, and the lake at Nako.
- Who comes
- Travellers on the Shimla–Kinnaur–Spiti circuit, visitors in apple season, and families stopping for a night or two.
- Busy months
- April – June, and September – October for the apple harvest
The hard part
Most guests are passing through on a circuit. A landslide on the highway can turn a confirmed booking into a no-show by evening.
In SutraStack
Mark the no-show and the room goes back on sale for the next car up the valley. Every booking keeps its full history, so you can always see what was charged and why.

Mandi, Tirthan & Jibhi
Mandi, Tirthan Valley, Jibhi, Shoja, Barot, Prashar, Rewalsar
- Why guests come
- The Great Himalayan National Park, the trout streams of Tirthan, Jalori Pass and Serolsar Lake above Jibhi, Prashar Lake, and Mandi’s Shivratri fair.
- Who comes
- Families from Delhi and Chandigarh looking for quiet, trekkers heading into the national park, and people working remotely for a week or more.
- Busy months
- March – June and October – December
The hard part
Most properties are family homestays of three to eight rooms. There is no front desk — the owner takes bookings on WhatsApp, cooks, and does the accounts at night.
In SutraStack
Run the whole homestay from one phone: the booking chart, each guest’s bill and the day’s money. Share your own booking link on WhatsApp and Instagram, and guests book direct with no OTA commission.

01
“A Delhi agent sends six bookings a month and settles up whenever they like.”
Mark each booking as the agent’s and record their payments against it. Their account shows what they sent, what they paid and what they still owe — no notebook, no argument at the end of the season.
02
“A foreign guest checks in at midnight, and Form C is due within 24 hours.”
Save the passport scan at check-in. You still file Form C on the FRRO portal; upload the copy to the booking and it stays there for whenever you need to show it.
03
“5% GST or 18%? CGST + SGST, or IGST for the agency from Punjab?”
Rooms up to ₹7,500 a night are billed at 5% and above that at 18%, worked out from each night’s rate. Rooms are taxed where your property stands, so every bill shows CGST + SGST for Himachal (state code 02).
04
“The last room, sold on MakeMyTrip and at the front desk on a sold-out Saturday.”
A MakeMyTrip or Goibibo booking lands on your booking chart and the room count drops everywhere else. Through AioSell and eGlobe, the same count reaches Booking.com, Agoda and 100+ other OTAs.
05
“You live in Chandigarh, the property is in the hills, and the only report is a phone call.”
At 6 am an email lists today’s arrivals, the guests staying on and the checkouts. Open SutraStack on your phone any time for bookings, payments collected and rooms sold.
06
“Café slips go missing, and checkout turns into a hunt through paper.”
Kitchen orders go on a ticket and are charged to the room, so the guest’s bill at checkout already has every meal on it.
07
“Staff change every season, and nobody knows who changed a rate or took a payment.”
Give each person their own login with only the screens their job needs. Every change is recorded with who made it and when, and the owner sees it all in the audit log.
08
“Too many bookings come through apps that take a cut of every room.”
Your own booking website takes bookings and online payments directly, with promo codes for repeat guests and quiet weeks. Share the link and keep the commission.
— More than a PMS
A channel manager, built in.
Most Himachal properties sell through apps. SutraStack keeps every one of them in step with your front desk — one set of rates, one room count, and no extranet logins on a sold-out Saturday.
100+
OTAs your rooms can reach
- Direct
- MakeMyTrip and Goibibo
- Through AioSell and eGlobe
- Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia and 100+ more OTAs
01
One room count, everywhere.
A booking on any channel lowers the rooms left on every other one — and the front desk sees the same number. The last room is sold once.
02
Every rate from one screen.
Set season, weekend and festival rates once. Add a markup or a markdown for each channel, and SutraStack sends them out.
03
Close dates. Set minimum stays.
Stop selling the weeks you shut, or ask for two nights over New Year — on every channel at once, not app by app.
04
Your own booking website.
Guests book and pay on your own site with no OTA commission. Share the link on WhatsApp and Instagram, with promo codes for repeat guests.
— Your year in Himachal
Four seasons. One system that keeps up.
What happens · Summer rush
School holidays and the heat in the plains bring families up from Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Long weekends sell out first, and the last room goes to whoever books fastest.
In SutraStack
Raise rates for weekends and peak dates in one go, set a minimum stay on long weekends, and keep MakeMyTrip and Goibibo in step with your own chart so the last room is never sold twice.
What happens · Monsoon
Landslides and closed roads bring last-minute cancellations, and whole weeks go quiet. Cash flow matters more than at any other time of year.
In SutraStack
Record every cancellation and refund so nothing slips through, see the money collected each day, and fill quiet weeks with a lower rate or a promo code for your own website.
What happens · Autumn & festivals
Clear skies, Kullu Dussehra, the Diwali holidays and the best flying weather in Bir. Families and friends travel together and want rooms side by side.
In SutraStack
Book a family or a group into several rooms as one booking with one bill, and see every night’s occupancy at a glance on the booking chart.
What happens · Snow & New Year
Christmas and New Year fill Shimla and Manali, and fresh snow brings weekend crowds. Higher valleys go quiet, and some properties close for weeks at a time.
In SutraStack
Stop selling the dates you are closed, price New Year nights on their own, and put café and bonfire-dinner orders straight onto the guest’s room bill.

— Why hotels trust us
Simple to use. Easy to check.
People, not a ticket queue.
Message or call the team on WhatsApp. We set SutraStack up with you and train your staff, and the Support screen inside it shows who to call for your hotel.
Easy for every member of staff.
Each person gets their own login and sees only the screens their job needs, so a new hire learns a few screens, not the whole system — on the phone they already carry.
Every rupee explained.
Each bill lists every night, every extra and every payment, with the balance due always on screen. A guest never has to take anyone’s word for the total.
Every change on record.
Bookings, payments, refunds, bill charges and rate changes are saved with who made them and when. The owner can read the whole trail in the audit log.
Your data stays yours.
Each hotel sees only its own bookings and guests. Passport and ID scans are never on a public link and open only for signed-in staff. Accounts lock after repeated wrong passwords.

— Himachal hoteliers ask
Questions, answered.
Yes. Sutra Stack Private Limited is registered in Himachal Pradesh and was incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst with funding from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It is DPIIT-recognised.
Since 22 September 2025, rooms up to ₹7,500 a night are taxed at 5% (without input tax credit) and rooms above ₹7,500 at 18%. The tax is split equally into CGST and SGST — 2.5% + 2.5%, or 9% + 9%. Because a room is taxed where the property stands, a Himachal hotel charges CGST + SGST even to guests and travel agencies from other states. SutraStack applies all of this automatically.
No — you still file Form C on the FRRO portal within 24 hours of a foreign guest’s arrival. SutraStack records the guest’s passport details at check-in and keeps the Form C copy with the booking, so it is there whenever you need to show it.
Yes. SutraStack works the same for a three-room homestay in Jibhi as for a sixty-room hotel in Manali, on the phone you already have. You only set up what you use.
Look for four things: a channel manager built in, so MakeMyTrip and the front desk never sell the same room twice; GST worked out at 5% or 18% on its own; somewhere to keep passport scans and Form C copies for foreign guests; and screens that work on a phone. SutraStack does all four, and it is made in Himachal — registered there and incubated at IIT Mandi.
Yes, it is built in. MakeMyTrip and Goibibo connect directly: their bookings arrive on your booking chart, and your rates and available rooms go back to them from SutraStack. Through the AioSell and eGlobe channel managers, the same rates and rooms reach 100+ OTAs, including Booking.com, Agoda and Expedia. You also get your own booking website for direct bookings.
Yes. Multi-property is built in — no enterprise upgrade. One login opens every property, each with its own rooms, rates, staff access and reports.
SutraStack runs in the browser, so it needs a connection — but any connection will do, including your phone’s mobile data. When the broadband drops, a phone hotspot keeps the front desk running.
Message us on WhatsApp or ask for a call back on this page. We will walk you through SutraStack on your own rooms and rates — about fifteen minutes, no credit card.
