The Problem We Saw
Every small hotel in India has the same story. A thick register at the front desk, rate sheets taped to the wall, and a WhatsApp group that somehow became the booking system. We saw this firsthand — not from a boardroom, but from hotel lobbies across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
The global hotel tech industry is worth billions, yet the average budget hotel in India still relies on pen and paper. The few software options available were either too expensive, too complex, or designed for large chains — not for the 50,000+ small and mid-size properties that make up the backbone of Indian hospitality.
The Spark
SutraStack was born from a simple question: What if hotel software was as easy as WhatsApp?
We started prototyping in 2025, fueled by a grant from the Department of Science & Technology (DST) through their Technology Business Incubator program. Being incubated at IIT Mandi Catalyst gave us access to world-class mentorship and technical resources, while Sharda University's Innovation Centre connected us to the hospitality industry network.
What We're Building
SutraStack isn't another enterprise PMS crammed into a smaller package. It's built from the ground up for:
Every feature solves a real problem that real hoteliers told us about. No bloat. No features you'll never use. Just what you need, designed to be learned in hours, not weeks.
What's Next
We're in our soft launch phase, working closely with pilot properties to refine every interaction. If you're a hotelier who's tired of fighting with software (or paper), we'd love to show you what we're building.
